Talk synopsis: No matter how you use them, AJAX and Javascript are no problem when you have only a little content, or just a handful of users. But as your site grows, too much Javascriptand poorly applied AJAXcan cause things to grind to a halt, on your server and in your visitors' web browsers.

With a little forethought, though, this doesn't have to happen to you. AJAX and Javascript can actually help, not hurt, your site's performance.
