Ah, gee whiz. I just renewed my subscription at full price, and now I see there is a half price subscription offer coming up.

Is there any chance I might be able to use the offer to recover part of the subscription cost? Or is there no chance if the subscription has already been renewed?

You can add on to your subscription—-it'll give you another year at half price.

Yes. You can purchase as many subscriptions as you like—they will all be added to your existing one.

Does this also work if I'm changing subscription type? For half price I'll switch from PDF to Print PDF.

Actually.. that is a very good point - how does the subscription discount work with renewals ? My subscription still runs to the summer, but I would like to use the offered discount to already renew for next year. Does a new subscription only start after the old one has finished or will I start to receive two magazines for the next few months if I renew now ?

Thanks for the answer Marco.

When signing up for courses do you have to specify a specific course date schedule?

[Reply to this]

Re: Re: php|architect's Yearly 7-Day Promo Fest! (#441)
By Marco on 2007-01-03 11:57:38

No. You actually receive a "training voucher" that is good for one year from the date of purchase; you can then exchange the voucher for any one course, provided you sign up at least two days before it starts.

In general, we usually get in touch with you as soon as you make your purchase and discuss scheduling options with you.

Are the courses ever offered at night? A lot folks aren't available for the day time schedules. (working sucks)

The schedules for the courses vary—for the most part, the courses start either at 10AM Eastern or 2PM Easter (alternating on a monthly basis). For an example, see the current schedules posted at http://www.phparch.com/phptraining

Ahum... just looking to renew my subscription just now and wondering how to go about adding two years of magazines to my account.

My intuition would be to up the quantity of the subscription to 2, but I am wondering if I then will end up receiving two mags each month next year....

Looking at the shipping costs (Europe), it does look like it is only adding the shipping costs for the one year in the purchase summary.

Should I buy one year and then go back and buy a second one separately ?

Your advice will be appreciated.

Hmm... Just subscribet for one year digital edition. But i see that my subscription expires: "Volume 6 - Issue 11". Does this mean that I'll get only 11 issues instead of 12?

Re: Re: php|architect's Yearly 7-Day Promo Fest! (#459)

No—the January issue of php|a hasn't been released yet, so your subscription starts from the December 2006 issue (Vol 5, Issue 12). That makes 12 issues until Vol 6 Issue 11.

the training discount:

does this apply to multi-credit purchases as well or will this only apply on a per class basis?

Re: Re: php|architect's Yearly 7-Day Promo Fest! (#463)

It applies to single-class credit voucher purchases. However, you can buy multiple vouchers and use them to take as many classes as you like (and still get a discount better than what we usually provide to those who buy 40 or more credits!)

Problem buying multiple items (#464)
By Richard Buggy on 2007-01-06 01:58:26

There seems to be a problem with the shopping cart. I want to buy a lot of back issues but every time I try to add an 8th item to the cart it tells me my shopping cart is empty. Is there any chance this can be fixed before the back issue special expires?

[Reply to this]

Re: Problem buying multiple items (#465)
By Marco on 2007-01-06 08:00:15

This is explained above; the cart only supports up to 7 items, so you'll have to do it in multiple batches. Sorry!

By Eric Guerin on 2007-01-06 21:29:25

I'm on the 6th day of the promo - the Print magazine back-issues don't seem to be discounted at all, I went all the way to the end of the shopping cart-before cc info is added, and they were still the normal price of 10.99 an issue?

How can I purchase these with the discount? It looks like the PDF ones might be discounted, but I am not sure, since I don't know what their regular price is.

Hopefully I can still order these...thanks.

I had problems with back issues too... No discount.

I somehow managed to miss out on the subscription (checked back a day late!) so I was hopng to get a few back issues, but the discount isn't working.
I hope it will all be working in a few days. I'm planning to sign up for a course!
